Barry M Blush : My Thoughts.

I don't know about you, but I know that I was excited when I heard that Bazza M was finally bringing out a range of blushers! With the brands range of bright colours and good pigmentation, I was very excited and seeing them and trying them out..

Let me present to you.. Pink Orchid & Raspberry :)

Pink Orchid is a beautiful subtle bubble-gum-ish barbie pink, It's really pigmented and leaves a lovely pale rosy-ness on my cheeks. It is perfect for day to day and blends so easily.

Raspberry (Not for the faint hearted) is a hot shocking bright pink colour, extremely bright and to be used with a very very light hand! I went straight it with my stippling brush when I received it and woah! I looked like my mum did in the eighties! .. I've now played with it though, and less is more with this colour. It creates a lovely bright flushed finish.

Here be some swatches.

There you go, Pretty huh? .. Yep, I know.

So, the finish of both blushers is matte, which I like because I don't always want to look like my face is a ball of shimmery disco ball-ness. Both colours blend in effortlessly (although a bit more work is required with raspberry because it IS so bright) and they last really well on the cheeks.

Onto the packaging.. I am not going to say too much on it really, I have read a few reviews where people have slated the packaging and I guess I can see their side, but it doesn't really bother me. The blusher is only £4.25 so we can't expect anything too flashy now, can we? .. And anyway, the product inside is good, surely that's the main thing? - Let's not be shallow and judge this blusher by it's packaging!

One thing I will say though - The Brush! It really is pointless, scratchy and it sheds and there is no way you could apply such an amazing blusher with this!

So there you have my review, I love these blushers and will be branching out and trying some of the other shades soon. Have you tried them, what did you think?

Bridal / Wedding Makeup.

So, a week or so ago I was asked by a subscriber on youtube to do a wedding tutorial for her, as she is getting married very soon.

"I was just asking if you could do a bridal wedding look for me - can't find any tuts that don't use mega expensive products - I like browns and neutrals or poss blues - million thanks if you can - I'm having my hair like princess grace of Monaco so I'm thinking simple and chic - hope you can help. Again you are so lovely and looking forward to more vids xxx" (From Magpie Burns)

So, I'll admit I was a little nervous at first, as wedding makeup is something you want to be perfectly beautiful and flawless, but I wanted to give it a shot, and do something for her.

Here are some more pics of the look..

Did I do good? .. I think it turned out nice, neutral, but noticeable too. :)

Soft Hands & Kind Heart and Love Etc..

I'm sure most of you have heard of the new Body Shop perfume and the Soft Hands, Kind Heart hand cream by now, but I wanted to add my own little bit about them, So I'm gonna keep it brief!

First the 'Love Etc' Perfume. £11.70 for 30ml bottle (Perfect size for your handbag!)
Available in-store and online here.

Love in a bottle! .. This is such a gorgeous fragrance, Really fresh and feminine - It makes me happy when I spritz it on! The scent lingers for a long time too & It fits perfectly in my handbag, so I can take it everywhere with me. Once I'm out of it I will definitely be wanting another bottle or two to keep me going :)

Secondly, the Soft Hands, Kind Heart hand cream. This is £5 for a 75ml tube, and it is for an amazing cause! £3.45 of the £5 that you pay will go towards the Ecpat charity. Ecpat are a great charity who are very serious about stopping sex trafficking of children and young people. So I really think if you are reading this and you haven't purchased a bottle of this hand cream you should! You can buy it in stores, or on-line by clicking here.

So, I have read a few mixed reviews on the hand cream itself, some people don't think it's great and others love it. I am on the love side, It is a lovely thick non greasy texture that soaks in quickly and you only need a pea sized amount. It also has a lovely subtle citrus scent that lasts nicely.

What are you waiting for?! Go do your bit for Ecpat. I am going to buy a few bottles as small gifts for Christmas for friends. :)

Body Shop Blusher Trio.

What can I say about this?..

Well, I have made no secret of the fact that I absolutely love this in my videos.. 'Warm Sunset' is so pretty, so pigmented, huge and leaves a gorgeous glow on my skin.

The three shades are lovely individually, but equally as lovely when they are blended together on the cheeks.

I have since got the pink version too, Cool Dusk (Thanks Jasmine!) and I am as much in love with that one, as this. The three cool pink shades leave my skin feeling and looking glowy.

They are so easy to blend, they look great on and they are only £12.50 each, I highly reccomend these, I really love them. You can buy them by clicking here.

Nude Lip Combo

Some of you may or may not know, that I am a huge fan of the nude lip look. I have had people moan and complain when I make a tutorial that I always do a 'boring' nude lip, blah blah... But it's what I like! Don't get me wrong, I like colour too, but a nude lip look is my absolute fave.

So, I wanted to share my current fave nude lip combo. I say current, because sometimes I use Barry M's 101 more often, but at the moment I am using a great lippie which is under £2.00 and gives a great look.

It is a lipstick in the shade 'Apple Blossom' from the Natural Collection range in Boots. For me it is the perfect nude and with a nice gloss on top (I'm loving L'Oreal 'Pearly Rose Glow' at the mo) It finishes it off nicely.

*This is a little pic heavy, be warned*

So, let me get on with this! First is a pic of my natural lips, I only have some lip balm on here, to prep my lips for the lipstick.

Here we have the combo of the apple blossom lipstick and pearly rose glow gloss.

A swatch of the gloss..

And the lipstick..

Apple Blossom on the lips, alone. Still a nice nude shade.

And with the Rose Glow Gloss on top, It finishes it off nicely, I think.

So, there you have it, My fave nude lip combo of the moment!

Do you love nude lips too? If so share with me your fave nude combos! :)

Hair colour and Cut!

I wanted to show off my new hair colour that my mum dyed for me last week, I am sooo lucky to have a the best mum in the world, who is also a hairdresser <3 I was long overdue some hair pampering, It had been well over a year since my mum had cut or coloured it for me. So I was looking forward to getting it sorted, I felt some pampering after all the crap I've been having lately would cheer me up, and it did! I like having 'done' hair. So, My mum used a Movida hair colour on me (which is semi permanent) We always use that colour on me nowadays and I find it lasts for ages, and when it fades away it does so naturally without you having ugly roots. The colour she used on me was number 23 - Chestnut Brown It is a gorgeous dark brown red colour, but it's not TOO dark.

My hair was also trimmed, layered and razored a bit.. It needed to be thinned out so much and feels so much better now (I have very thick hair and loads of it!) We decided I would keep it long as I have been trying to grow it for a while, and my mum said she likes the length on me.

So anyway, enough of my waffle, Let me show you the colour. I love it :) You'll notice my curls are more defined now too, due to the new fresh layers, It looks lovely when it's straightened, but I couldn't be bothered today.

What do you think? .. I think it's a nice colour and it makes my hair look much shinier and healthier now it's cut too.

NOTD : Mavala Mini - Risa

Hey everyone..

I've decided that I need to do more NOTD's too! I always paint my nails, So I should snap a pic and show y'all..

I recently got a box set of three Mavala Mini's from my local chemist which were reduced from £9.00 to £3.50, So naturally I snapped them up!

This is the first shade I have tried, It's called 'Risa' and It is a beautiful sheer pale pink shade and I couldn't wait to try it out.

I was sceptical it would come out how it looks in the bottle, but it's actually not bad! As you will see in the pics, I have lovely glossy pale pink nails! I only used two thin-ish coats aswell, So I think with three I would probably have the bottle colour, but I am happy with the finish two coats gave me.

It went on lovely and smooth and dried ultra quick too!

WINNER!

FOTD - Body Shop Browns.

I never really stick with doing make up looks on my blog but I decided I yesterday that I would try and change that.

I have a new camera which I am experimenting with lots, and desperatlely trying to get good at taking pics on (like Charlotte my photography inspiration!)

So I got out a few things yesterday and did a brown/bronze kinda look. I used the Body Shop Eye Trio in 02 - Sundown Glow It has three gorgeous shades in it. I also used a body shop kohl pencil as a base in the colour burnised amber (I think?) .. Oh, and I used Collosal Lash mascara.

Anyway, onto the look .. I hope you like it ! :)

Schwarzkopf Bonacure Hairtherapy

Repair Rescue Conditioner 200ml : £9.85
Repair Rescue Amino Fortifier 50ml : £8.65

Hey all, I hope you are all well.

I have been trying some of the Schwarzkopf Bonacure hair products for just over a month now and I have been really liking them. Before I actually received them I had to fill out a prescription for my hair, all about my hair type and condition, and then I was sent my products in a medicine type package, which I thought was really fun! These products are like medicine for your hair, they are designer to make your hair strong and to help repair any damage.

I want to start by telling you about the treatment, The Amino Fortifier. It smells really good and is a thick creamy consistency, but be warned, you do not need much at all! (I made that mistake the first time) - I have very thick hair and lots of it and I found that I only needed to use a small blob (about the size of a small coin) .. I massage it through the mid length and ends of my hair and leave it for five or so minutes before combing through and rinsing, It left my hair feeling ultra silky.

After a couple of weeks I began to notice a difference, in that after using this in the shower and drying and straightening my hair it felt and looked so glossy and in much better condition, The cuticles of my hair were smoother and It felt stronger too. So much so that my mum (who is a hairdresser) commented on it when I saw her last week, Saying how much healthier it looked.

I did initially think this small tube would run out quickly, but you really do not need much at all. I use it only once a week, and love how it has repaired the ends of my hair!

.. Now onto the conditioner! First things first, I do not feel the need to use this when I am using the treatment, But I use this on the days when I am not using it. Again, it is a thick creamy nice smelling product that you don't need to use much of, It leaves my hair feeling so manageable and soft and gives it a lovely healthy glossy shine when it is styled. The packaging is great too and you get a whopping 200mls which will last for ages. As with the treatment you don't need to use alot of this and I just massage it through the mid length and ends.

So, all that is left for me to say is thank you Bonacure for helping my hair feel healthy and glossy again. It's been a while since I have wanted to make an effort with it and show it off, but I do now!
