Colour Extreme - Hair Art.

I love dying my hair, and when I was younger I had all sorts of extreme and bright colours.. More recently I have always gone with a brown/red shade, and currently my hair is free from dye and I quite like my natural chestnut hair colour.  That doesn't mean I don't like to switch things up a bit though, and so when I got an email about Colour Extreme and their washout hair sprays and gels, I was interested.

I was sent some samples of to try out. Two of their hairsprays and two gels. I was asked beforehand what my natural hair colour was, so that I got shades that should best work for me.
Above we have Colour Extreme Hair Art Gel (Blue and Pink) - Colour Extreme Hair Art Spray (Blue and Purple)

I expected that the sprays would be great, but I wasn't that keen on the idea of a coloured gel. I imagined it would be all kinds of messy, but as it turned out, I preferred the gel (for me) more.

The blue spray is great and shows up well in my hair, very well pigmented and gives a lovely bright flash of colour. Sadly, the purple didn't show up in my hair at all. The downside to the spray is that it makes your hair stiff and hard to manage and I could barely get a brush through mine without washing it out. Also, when you touch your hair with this on, it transfers to your hands. It's easy to use though, I just put a towel over my shoulders, sprayed from a few inches away and let it dry before quickly brushing it through before my hair went too stiff.
The Gel on the other hand is so bright! I love these for a more precise look. I just took a couple of strands, did one with the pink and one with blue, let it dry and brushed it out, and I was left with really natural looking streaks that weren't stiff at all. And a note, although these products are slightly messy, they was off the skin so easily, and shampoo out of the hair right away too.
So, all in all, I liked the spray, and loved the gels. I would definitely like to try some other shades of them. As you can see above, once it has been brushed through and the hair is dry it looks really good, and vivid too!

Colour Extreme Hair Art products are available from Boots, and they currently have £1 off. You can get the gel here, and the sprays here.

♥ Carmine Box: January.

Hi Everyone,

Today I bring you the Carmine January Box! And I am pleased to say that is full of beauty loveliness, as ever!

This Months Box Contents:

Korres Wild Rose Brightening and Moisturising Cream (£19 for 40ml): I've read about this before, it's meant to brighten the complexion whilst moisturising your skin for a whole 24 hours. I have tried it twice so far and I like. It smells good and definitely adds radiance to my face. I'm really into brightening creams at the moment.

Eldora False Eyelashes (£3.90): I have heard of Eldora, but never tried their lashes, I can't wait to try these out though, they look very glam and dramatic. I'll be sure to do a FOTD when I get around to trying them out.

Balance Me Radiance Face Oil (£30 for 30ml): This is fairly pricey and reminds me a little of the Liz Earle Superskin (which I am currently trying out). It smells good, soaks in quickly without leaving a greasy feeling, and it leaves my skin feeling plump and smooth. I have been applying it at night time.

Westlab Himalayan Pink Salt (Various Prices Dependant On Size): I haven't tried this yet, I'm more of a shower girl, and if I bathe I use bubbles, not salts. This is packed with minerals and is said to transform a 30 minute soak into a 3 day detox that is the equivalent to a 3 day fast.  Hmm - very cold claims! I'll let my other half use these.

Eyeko Fat Eye Stick (£10): I got the shade 'Satin Taupe' Hmm, where have I heard that before? ;)  Anyway, this is a smooth, glide on eye crayon, in a gorgeous taupe colour. It creases like a b*tch without a primer, and it's pretty sheer, so I use it with a shadow on top to set it. It's nice though, and something I will definitely use up - but the texture is quite slippy/slidy.
I like this months box, my favourite items are the eye stick, the wild rose cream and the lashes, which I am so excited to try out!

What do you think of this months Carmine Box?

You can subscribe at carmine.co.uk for £10 + £2.75 P+P a month, and you will receive five surprise samples each month. You can click here to see how you could get a free box.

Muji Love ~ Brush Storage.

Hi Guys!

So last Thursday I did some major hauling with leftover Birthday/Christmas money. While I was out I popped into Muji (for the first time!) I've heard so much about their cool storage-y type things and I wanted to see for myself. Straight away I was looking at the Acrylic Storage section, Ohh'ing and Ahh'ing over what I could use these pots for!

In the end though, I settled for one item (for now), I got the desk pen organiser, I believe it was called, and it was around £8 (Sorry, it's not on the website that I can see -- Edit: Someone in the comments found the link - Thank you! It is here).

I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, but I liked the look of it and knew it would have some use. So, I got home and had a few ideas for it, eventually deciding that I would try it for my eye make up brushes, my other idea was eye liners and mascaras, but I might get another for those.

Anyway, it works like a treat and I love it. It was a random purchase on the day, but one of my faves!

It has four back compartments which are the perfect size for your brushes, and two front portions, which I have found to be really good for my Kabuki's, something which I always struggle to store, and then just some hair clips, mini brushes and my beauty blender. I have to say, I love it! It saves so much space and is really useful, and keeps everything tidy.

That's all from me today! Do you have any Muji storage? Tell me your favourites!

FOTD // Fiery Hot Eyes!

Aloha!

Today I have a Face of the day look from last weekend. If I remember rightly it was a grey cold day and I decided I wanted something bright, and hot looking on my eyes.

So I did what I always do when I don't know where I'm going to go with my makeup, I pulled out the 120 palette (search ebay for manly palette) and played with makeup! This is what I came up with.
Obviously, because I used the 120, I cannot list exact colours - But I used a yellow on the inner most corner, a orange on the centre of the lid, a red on the outer corner, then I blended a purple and black mix into the crease for definition, and also along the lower lashes. Then I added liner and mascara!

For the lips, which are two toned, if you can't tell, I used Sleek True Colour Lipstick in 'Mystic' then an orange coral shade on the centre (It's from a lip palette that I've had for ageees!).

Thank you for reading! :)

Ooh, A Glossybox For The Men!

I was recently sent a Glossybox for my man to try. Let me tell you, he was very excited (more so than I expected) at the prospect of having lots of samples to try out.. He got a new toiletry bag at Christmas, and he said he was really chuffed to be able to fill it with things, and that he felt very lucky - Bless him!

The Glossybox for men contains 7 luxury sized samples, with a selection of high end and specialist brands, and it is sent out quarterly, and is just £15 (+P+P) ever 3 months.

The Glossybox for men comes in a silver/gray box, as opposed to the girly pink one that we ladies get. It has the normal black crinkly paper, and also has a black ribbon and black tissue paper too. I like it, and the box is great to keep for storage afterwards, as I am sure you all know. I've already nabbed the BF's box from him!
The Contents.
So, above is what the first manly Glossybox contains.

Avene Homme Shaving Gel: It's thick, unctuous coating foam protects the skin aince it allows easier and gentle gliding of the blade, hence reducing skin discomfort.

DR. Eckstein Eye Balm: Designed especially for the savvy male client. Smooth eye balm for the delicate eye area to aid in the prevention of fine lines and wrinkles.

Fudge Hairshaper Lite: Medium Hold Texturising Creme. Light texturising cream for fine or longer hair. Hair Shaper Lite texturises, pieces and moulds fine hair. It also thickens, controls and texturises the hair through the use of carnauba organic waxes and film forming co-polymers.

Korres Cedar Showergel: Korres Cedar Shower Gel is a mix of earthy and forest tones with a sunny amber shade with a lasting moisturising effect. Wheat proteins form a protective film on the skin, thus maintaining its natural moisture levels. Active Aloe juice, rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and antioxidant enzymes, enhances the immune system of the skin.

Lab-series Max Face Cream: Formulated for all skin types. Be Age-Less. Reclaim your younger looking skin. Powered by Sirtuin technology and the science of skin cell longevity, the Molecular Age-Less Complex in Max LS helps erase the signs of aging, in a highly advanced daily moisturizer.

Rene Furterer Balancing Shampoo: Naturia Balancing shampoo shampoo can be used as often as needed to leave your hair soft, light while respecting the natural balance of your scalp. This shampoo can be used as a relay shampoo

Royal Shaving After Shave Balm: Suitable for treating skin irritations. Has an anti inflammatory effect with wound-healing properties; combats free radicals and thus also skin damage from UVA radiation. Plant extracts with healing and smoothing properties; supports healing processes of damaged skin by encouraging tissue growth.

So, those are the products, and  apologise, but I had to google most of the products for a description, as the listing card with the Glossy box is in some foreign language that I cannot understand.

My partner is currently enjoying sampling all of the products, I particularly like the Korres showergel. It's lovely!

You can check out the GLOSSYBOX for men, here. Or for the ladies, here!

Botanical Shine Treatment, By Liz Earle.

When I got an email from Liz Earle at the end of last year telling me that they were bringing out a new hair product that had been highly requested by ladies with dry frizzy hair, I was pleased. The product is a conditioning treatment. The Botanical Shine Treatment, aimed at people with dry, frizzy hair. The frizzy part is definitely me, not so much dry at the moment, because I haven't coloured my hair for ages. This came at the right time too, because I had just run out of my Aussie 3 minute miracle.

So, first things first, the packaging is nice and simple, and matches those of the Liz Earle Shampoo and Conditioner. The treatment itself is a thick rich cream that smells like the original shampoo and conditioner, which is mainly of citrus - a lovely zingy refreshing scent.

This can be left on for 10 mins, or 30 mins, I suppose that depends on you and how much of a treatment you want. I never time myself, but I always wash my hair first when I shower or bath, and then I leave this on while I do everything else, then rinse at the end.
I use a fifty pence piece size blob for my mid lengths and ends, and then wrap my hair in a towel. Before I rinse I comb my hair through, then I am done. My hair felt instantly smooth after using this, the comb just slid through my hair. After air drying my hair was noticeably softer and smoother than usual, and after straightening it, it had that 'just out of the salon' shine and feel to it. Luscious!

I would definitely recommend this if you have thick, unruly hair that tends to frizz, it definitely is a lovely treat for the hair. I'm in the habit of using it once per week now as a special treatment for my hair.

Available from the Liz Earle Website, or in Liz Earle Stores.

Animalistic Eyes.

Hi Lovely People!

This is a very short, random post today.

I was browsing my subscriptions box on you tube yesterday when I saw a look from Jordan Liberty. He is an amazing make up artist who makes short make up videos on your tube, and this one caught my eye. I thought it was lovely and just so eye catching.

Anyway, today I was in my make up room just playing with makeup (one of my fav things to do), and I thought I would give it a go. I changed it a bit to my sort of style, and I only did it on the one eye, but I liked the result, considering it was just a quick 'try it out' kind of thing. I think I am going to do the look on both eys for a video/fotd soon. I really like the effect it gives.

So, without further ado, here are my pictures.

Annnnd, that is all!

I love getting inspired :)

Happy New Year + Update.

Hello Everyone!

Gosh, it's been a while since I last blogged properly, hasn't it? .. Wow.

Since I last blogged I have turned 29, spent two weeks for Christmas and New Year with my Mum and Sister in Plymouth, with my boyfriend joining us for New Year.

I had a lovely time away, it was just what I needed and I feel re-energized and positive at the moment, which makes a changed. I don't know what 2012 will hold for me, but I hope that it's good, positive things. I do know I will be having surgery at some point which is a scary prospect, but when I think about that, it is something that needs to be done to get rid of a problem, so is a positive too.

I received some lovely gifts for my Birthday and Christmas, some of which I will no doubt blog about in the near future, I'm not sure I will do a haul like I usually do though, the picture taking takes ages! I may make a video haul though, as I have a new camera that I got on my Birthday, so you expect lots more you tube videos from me this year I hope.

I'm going to leave this here for now, but I just wanted to say hi and let you know that I am still around. I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas, and that 2012 is an amazing one for each and every one of you.

I'll leave you with a few shots that were taken over Christmas / New Year.
