Liz Earle: Superskin Concentrate.

Hi Everyone. Wow, long time no post. I hope you are all well. I haven't been around since I had my op as I have been spending lots of time with my family, and relaxing, trying to recover from my surgery. I'm still sore, but better than I was at first. It's going to take a while to heal, but I am hoping to slowly get back into the swing of blogging.

The intense, aromatic blend of 100% pure plant oils in this rich, restoring night-time treat is suitable for all skin types. It helps to soften dry or mature skin and balance combination or oily skin.

Use at night after cleansing and toning (but before moisturising).

Naturally active ingredients include softening argan and organic rosehip oils, soothing neroli, lavender and chamomile essential oils plus antioxidant natural source vitamin E.
I was kindly sent a sample of this at the beginning of the year to try out, and I wasn't sure if it was going to work for me. I have oily skin, so the thought of slathering an oil all over it wasn't something I liked the sound of. I sometimes put bio oil on my skin over night, for a moisture boost, but it always feels a little greasy.

I had heard good things about this though, and wanted to see what all of the fuss was about, and I have to admit that I have really enjoyed using it, and it has really improved my skin. Yes it is an oil, but it sinks into the skin without leaving a greasy layer on your face, it smells amazing, a perfect scent before bed, it is very relaxing. I just use one pump, rub between my fingers and then pat it onto my face and massage it in. When I wake my skin feels sooo smooth, very plump and hydrated.

Aside from it making my skin look good though, my skin has behaved really well while using this. Since having my surgery I have let my skincare slide a little, and I got quite a bad breakout (I think due to being rundown and stress), but I kept this by my bedside and applied a little each night, and all of my blemishes have gone, without leaving the horrible scars behind too.

It is pricey at £38.75 for 25ml of product, but as you can see, I haven't used that much, and I have been using it for over a month already.

.. Surgery Day ..

weheartit
Hi everyone.

This post is in relation to all of the other personal health related posts that you can see here -- tomorrow is the day.. The day of my surgery. I am dues at the hospital at 7.30am tomorrow morning (9th Feb) and I am so worried, scared and just so many other emotions that I can't explain. I am praying that everything will be okay, and that the healing process will go good and hopefully I'll be back to myself in a few months time.

It was my boyfriends Mother's funeral yesterday too, so this isn't the best week of my life. But I am trying so hard to be positive. I know that the surgery has to be done, and I have to get through it and be strong.

So, I might not be around for a while, but then again, when I'm rested up and healing, who knows? Blog might be all I can do! Either way, I'll definitely be updating twitter a bit.

So, please send your positive thoughts, vibes and prayers. I will take all that I can get. Thanks for all of your support and caring messages, they really do help.

See you all soon.

Love.

The Glam Smokey Eye.

If you've seen one smokey eye, you've seen them all, and I have probably done a look similar to this somewhere on my blog before, but I love smokey eyes, and decided that was going to be my look on this day. I just used a pale shade on the inner corner, then blended that into a chocolate/taupe shimmer on the centre of the lid, then blended that into a black on the outer corner and into the crease.

I love how smokey eyes are easy to do and like 'Instant Glam.' It is definitely one of my favourite go-to looks.

- My Recreation of the John Frieda 'Messy Updo.'

I was recently contacted by the PR team for John Frieda, who told me about the JohnFriedaUK You Tube channel, where they have many different videos, but most recently they have uploaded some videos for people to follow to create the hairstyles from the video. There is a stylist and a model, and you are talked through the simple steps, which can be followed at home.

I was asked if I could like to recreate one of the looks from a video. I chose to try the 'Messy Up Do' hair style.. I chose that because I love glam looking up do's, and whenever I wear my hair up I just put it in a boring ponytail, so I wanted to try something a little bit different.

John Frieda sent me the products used in the video to help me achieve the look.
The Products Included Were:

- John Frieda Frizz Ease Curl Reviver Mousse.
- John Frieda Luxurious Volume Thickening Hairspray.
- John Frieda Luxurious Volume Thickening Blowdry Lotion.
- John Frieda Frizz Ease Perfecting Cream.
- Boots brown Hair Grips.
So, I decided I would give it a go! I watched the video a couple of times, and then got to trying it out!

Beauty UK - Gun Metal.

I really, really love this notd. I won a selection of Beauty UK Polishes last year some time, and I haven't tried half of them yet, so I pulled this one out to use. It's Gun Metal #54, and I think it looks great. It took just two coats to get the desired opacity and it lasted a good four days before chipping (without a topcoat).

Available here for £1.99.
