Quick Tip - Eyeliner!

This is a kinda cheesy idea, but I like it! You gotta love a bit'o cheeeeeze! :)

I thought I would post really short posts every now and then with quick beauty type tips, or maybe tips for all sorts of things, who knows!

So to start off with I want to share something that I always found helpful when learning to use liquid liner.

I would always use a pencil first to line my upper lashline, Kind of as a template, It makes it so much easier to trace over the line with liquid when you have a guideline drawn on. Try it out!

That's all the cheese I got for now! lol

Is this a silly idea? Should I not bother? Hmm!

Mememe Beat The Blues Highlighter.

I bought this ages ago in Superdrug, and have been meaning to do this post for a while, So here I go!

This mememe beat the blues highlighter is so fabulous that I had to tell you all about it, although I am sure some of you are already aware of it. It is a rip off of the benefit high beam (which I have not tried) and it perfect for any part of the face or body, where you want to shimmer and glow!

It is in a nail polish type bottle and is a thick cream like consistency, It blends in really nicely and leaves a lovely radiance on the skin, I love it.

Do you like this? Or do you have any other mememe recommendations?

Lula Bloom Smellies - Blooming Gorgeous!

I was sent these a couple of weeks ago to test/review and since then I have been using them in my daily shower.

They arrived in a gorgeous Superdrug box which was full of pink tissue paper and a little note. I am a sucker for nice packaging, and this was like receiving and exciting gift!

So, onto the goods - I was sent the following :

Lula Bloom Shower Exfoliator

Lula Bloom Shower Gel
Lula Bloom Body Butter
Lula Bloom Body Lotion

Firstly, I was amazed at the size of the products, they are all huge and will last for absolutely ages.

They all smell divine to me, It is a very light fruity fragrance when you smell it in the tub, but when you use them the fragrance seems to just burst out of it.

The shower gel is thick and luxurious and lathers up really well. I used a small fifty pence piece size blob and that was plenty to cover me in a lovely bubbly lather!

The exfoliator is lovely, It doesn't feel too harsh on the skin at all, It is like the shower gel, but with the exfoliating particles in it, So I would just alternate and use the shower gel one day, exfoliator the next. My skin always looks glowy after using this and feels so smooth.

Onto the body lotion and butter. They are both so nice! The lotion is in a pump bottle which is huge and smells lush. I use this after exfoliating and it has a fairly thin consistency, but not runny. It soaks into the skin really quickly without feeling greasy and leaves the lovely sweet scent on your body for ages.

The Body butter is such a treat! So thick and creamy and luxury in a tub, I seriously love this. It is not greasy at all and I love how it just melts into the skin as you massage it in. It left my skin not only smelling delightful, but looking and feeling great too.

You can find products from the Lula Bloom range here . They are very reasonably priced products, and will last you for such a long time! And if you get in there now they have 3 for 2 on the products, Woo!

I am keen to try more from this range and I plan on getting the 3 in 1 oil and the Body scrub to try next.

Glitter Lashes From Barry M!

I was sent this to try and thought it would be really nice for those sparkly Christmas looks.

As you can see it comes in a twist up type tube with a brush on the end. It took me about twenty odd twists to get the glitter out mind! I think it's always the same with these things.

Anyway, what do I think of it? .. I actually really like it, It has loads of really fine glitter packed into a clear gel base. What I really like is that the glitter is not chunky and irritating, I seriously couldn't feel it when I ran my finger of the swatch on my hand.

It also can be used anywhere, not just on the lashes. I think it would be lovely on top of a pink eyeshadow look, or under the lashes. I couldn't get a good picture of it on my lashes so I just have swatches for you.

These are £4.95 and available from the Barry M website, In a range of different colours.. Click Here.

Five Faves at the moment!

Five things I am loving right now!

First up is Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara, The lovely Becky sent me this to try out because she didn't like it and she had a spare. I have to say I am really liking it, The formula is quite wet, but as long as you don't sneeze and give it a chance to dry, it's all good. It lengthens and separates really well for me.

I think that this little baby (Maybelline again!) is my HG liquid liner, it is just so easy and simple to use. I bought this is Superdrug ages ago and it has lasted so well.. I love the idea of it being like a felt tip pen, I find it so simple to use!

This cleanser is gorgeous, So thick and it makes my skin feel great! I use it with a Muslin cloth in the evening and am loving it so far. :)

This Max Factor pan stick is a lovely shimmery highlighter. As you can see in the pic it has no chunky glitter in it, it is just a lovely pale subtle shimmer. Perfect for the cheeks and brow bone!

Boots No17 eyeshadow in Mardi Gras, I love this eyeshadow, it is so pigmented and such a soft texture. It blends effortlessly and it perfect for smokey eyes, It is just gorgeous.

What are your top five products at the moment?!

My Make up Collection & Organisation.

Yesterday for me was spent being productive and sorting through my make up and re organising it. (when I say sorting I mean tidying it up, Not getting rid of stuff, I can't do that!) I spent my afternoon doing it, and after a few requests to see my collection I recorded a video showing it, not in full, but going through it.

I then thought I would take pictures of all of my make up drawers as they are now I've tidied them a bit, They stack into a five drawer storage thingie, which is so useful for me. Then I have some mini ones for pigments etc, as you will see..

So here you go.. It is organised into different sections, face, eyes, and so on..

(Lip Stuff)

(Mascara and Palettes)

(Eye liners & Lashes & Shade sticks)

(Sleek Palettes, Single eye shadows, etc)

(Face products, Highlighters & Blushers)

(Pigments, Barry M, Sleek, C2000, etc)

And that, my friends, is it!

Any questions or anything, let me know in the comments. I will be uploading the video soon, and may post that here too.

TTFN Under Eye Concealer!

This under eye concealer is my absolute fave right now. I got this in Primark back in July, while I was in Blackpool.. Yes, I did say Primark!

It cost about about £2/£3 and is awesomeness in a cute hot pink tube!

It is a lovely consistency, blends under the eyes really well and conceals excellently in my opinion. It reflects the light slightly, so hides any bad darkness, etc.

Here is a swatch (Sorry for the poor quality, It went a bit blurred) mine is in the shade 'light' and I don't know if they have other colours, but I would assume they do.

It comes in a tube with the little button that you press on the end which distributes the product into the brush on the end. You don't need much and it does the job! I tried to take a pic of one eye with and one without, and I can see the difference, can you? (I have not edited the lighting or anything on these, just cropped my zit ridden face out!)

Barry M - Metallic Liquid Eyeliners

When I was offered the chance to try out these new eye-liners from Barry M I was really pleased, I had had my eyes on them for a while and so snapped them up. I really love Barry M stuff and am always up for trying out their new products to see what I think of them.

I think these liners are perfect for the festive season, they all have great staying power and a lovely shimmer to them, they are not overly metal looking, it's just a lovely subtle undertone shimmery sheen.

My fave is the black because it is a colour I wear more often but the others are really well pigmented and vibrant too. They also have really good staying power and dry pretty quick too.

The packaging is the same as with all Barry M liquid liners, the brush is a pointed firm, but soft felt tip type applicator which I really like to use. The only thing I would like is if the handle was longer on the liner brush, I find pen lenth liner brushes/applications much easier to use, but I know some people who prefer shorter handles too, So I guess that is a personal preference.

Here are some swatches of them :

They get a thumbs up from me! What do you think of these, have you tried them?

Available from Boots and Superdrug Barry M stands
Or from the Barry M Website Click Here.
Price : £4.50

Face Of The Day, Greenish!

I recorded a video for this the other day (which I haven't uploaded yet) but here is the look. I used Urban Decay - Graffiti on the lower lid. Boujours 07 (Black/Green) in the crease and an Avon precision eyeshadow thingie above the crease in a lime colour. On the lips is Ambre Rose from Maybelline, and for mascara I used collosal lash I think!

It's nothing special really, just a smoky green look, Kind of dramatic.

I hope you like it.

Face Of The Night - Purple & Blue.

On Tuesday it was my boyfriends birthday and in the evening we planned to go to have a meal out and then to the cinema to see 2012. I wanted to do a nice make up look but nothing too OTT and this is what I came up with, so I thought I'd post it. I know this is pic heavy, but I know some of you like to see lots of pics anyway!

I used the urban decay deluxe palette for this and the urban decay single eyeshadow in asphyxia too.

I used the C2000 glam crystals liner in Pow! On the upper lash line, those things are so freaking sparkly and lovely! I want them all! :) Oh and on the lips is Ambre Rose and mascara is Lash Stiletto which I am loving!

The night out was really nice too, and 2012 was a great film, the effects were so fab! It's a little scary to think of that really happening though.

Anyway, this is about the make up, So, I hope you like it!

Review : Britney Spears - Circus Fantasy Perfume.

50ml bottle available from Superdrug £24.49

Having never tried any of the other Britney Perfumes before I was unsure of what to expect from her scent, would it be overly sweet and child like, or would it just smell yuk?

Neither actually! I think this is a really nice scent that is a mature perfume that can be worn all year round. It has a fruity scent but in a slightly musky way, For me the main scents I get are the apricot and vanilla with sweet raspberry that comes through.

It is not overpowering at all but it lasts for a few hours on me, so not that long really, I topped it up once during the day - My current scarf stinks of it though and I love it! Even my boyfriend commented on how lovely I smelt (without me even asking what he thought!) and said he could pick up the fruitiness of it. I don't normally like fruity perfumes, and if someone described something as fruity I would steer clear, but this isn't fruity in a sharp way, it is fruity in a lovely musky vanilla way.

The bottle is gorgeous, a blue ball type shape with red gems all over, Really eye catching and sparkly! It looks good on my dresser.

So, all in all I love this scent, It is definitely going to be my Christmas scent this year - It smells divine! Have you tried any Britney Perfumes, what are they like? I'm, tempted to try some more now.

(Please remember that these are just my thoughts, and I suggest if you are going to buy a fragrance you should smell it and make sure it's 'you' before you buy it.)

Bonacure Moisture Kick Haircare Review.

BC HAIRTHERAPY MOISTURE KICK SHAMPOO

This shampoo is lush, it smells delicious and lathers nicely. You only need to use a small amount and it leaves my hair feeling really smooth manageable, It definitely does what it says on the tin and puts moisture back into my dry ends, and also smooths them too. I really love how the scent of it lingers on my hair though, I don't know quite how to describe it, but every time I use this in the shower I 'Mmm and Aaah' over the smell, It's gorgeous.

BC HAIRTHERAPY MOISTURE KICK RECHARGER

Now this I LOVE and have been using loads. It is a mousse conditioner that you apply to towel dried hair and leave on for 10/15 mins. The mousse is really light weight and smells gorgeous like the shampoo. I leave it on for 15 mins or so before combing it through (and by then my hair feels silky and so conditioned) and then rinsing it. My hair looks so glossy and it good condition after using this.. You don't need to use it every time you shampoo though, I just use it as a treatment about once a week. Maybe more if I want a hair treat!

BC HAIRTHERAPY MOISTURE KICK SPRAY CONDITIONER

I use this every time I shampoo (except on days when I use the recharger) .. In all honesty I was never one for leave in conditioners and thought they were for kids with tangles, but this is really nice. I just spritz it all over my towel dried hair and it acts like a normally conditioner (just without rinsing!), making my thick curly hair more easy and manageable to comb and style. Once again it smells delicious and puts moisture back into my hair, that all of the heat from straighteners and hair colours take out.

Sleek Pout Polish!

I got this well over a month ago and wanted to do a post of how it looks and what I think. Because I really like it!

I have this is the shade Pink Cadillac and I love it. You get a large 10g jar and it also has SPF 15 in it, which is a bonus. I think this is SO comparable to a MAC lip conditioner.. It smells the same, feels lovely and moisturising on the lips and ha a lovely tint to it, as the name would suggest! Oh and it costs a fraction of the price, of course!

When I got mine they didn't have any other colours that took my fancy unfortunately, but I will be checking back to see if any others catch my eye next time I am in Superdrug!

This adds a lovely light tint to my lips, and makes them look smooth, glossy and moisturised!

I love Sleek and their great products and their prices! Yay for Sleek! :)

The Cloud Nine Wide Iron - Less Heat, More Style.

*Warning! This is going to be a MAMMOTH post with lots of pictures, So make sure you have got a cuppa and that you're sitting comfortably!*

OK? Let's go! :)

So, When I was fortunate enough to be asked if I would like to try and review some hair straighteners from Cloud 9, I jumped at the chance, I love straightening my hair and love my faithful GHDs and was really interested to see if anything could live up to that!

If you don't know of Cloud 9 then go see their website www.cloudninehair.com. They're the founders of GHDs and are making these straighteners with Unil Electronics, who are the inventors of the GHD*, Sounds exciting, Right?

I was sent the Wide Iron because I have curly/frizzy hair and need something good and big to get through it! The fact that they are wide is something I was excited about, because the GHDs that I have are the standard size, not wide, probably only about an inch or so, and I have been wanting to get some good wide straighteners for ages because of how much quicker and easier it would be for me.

Here are some of the features of the Cloud 9 irons :

The Cloud Nine Wide Iron has all the fantastic technology of the Cloud Nine Iron but with wider plates. Ideal for very long, very thick or hair with a tight natural curl, the width of the irons allows you to style more hair, faster.

* Temperature Control Panel
* Extra wide Black Ceramic Plates
* Swivel Cord
* Heat Guard
* Hibernation Mode
* RFID Chip
* Dual Adaptor

Their motto is 'Less Heat, More Style' and the irons have a controllable heat feature for certain hair types, so that you are not damaging your hair with 200° - 230° heat if it is only fine and you don't need them to be that hot.

There is a chart on their website that indicates what heat to use for whatever style you want, according to your hair type. I really like the idea of this, so if you are not wanting poker straight hair and you just want it to look natural then you can turn them down and natural looking straight hair is yours. They also have some handy styling tips too.

They come with a lovely bright blue protector to slide over the plates when they're not in use and they are also said to have a secret ingredient trapped within their plates, that adds shine and sparkle to your hair every time you use them! :)

So anyway, I guess you all want to know exactly what I thought of them..

First things first, the packaging : WOW! I was blown away when I opened these, I was like an excited child on Christmas Day. They come in a sleeve which has all the info on it and the logo, this slides off, to reveal a lovely black box which itself is a strong sturdy box that opens upwards. When you open it you are wowed by bright turquoise trim around the edge.

How pretty are they!!? The box has their motto on the inside of the lid in that lovely eye catching turquoise again and he C9 logo is stamped into the side of them and along the top they have cloud nine in bold silver lettering.

Here is a sneaky peek at the heat controls, They are easy to use and you just click on the 'Hi / Lo' button to whichever heat setting you want to use. They also have a hibernation mode so that if you forget to switch them off and they're not picked up for ten minutes, they switch themselves off! How clever is that? I actually love this feature, because I once broke a pair by leaving them on and forgetting.

.. OK! I now promise to stop telling you all about how great they are and show you some action!

So, I washed my barnet the night before I intended on straightening my hair, I always like to let it dry naturally rather than blow drying with heat, and they straightening with yet more heat. So, I put plenty of heat protection in and left it to dry. (I always use this, it is good stuff! Ooh and look, it matches the packaging colours!)

This is what my hair looks like after it has dried naturally, frizzy and poofy and not very attractive! It was curly when I woke up, but when brushed those curls turn to this frizzy mess!

Looks like this is gonna be hard work, doesn't it?!

Well let me tell you something, It wasn't at all! These irons are so easy to use, they were hot before I knew it and I was ready to battle the mop that is my hair! I started off with the underneath and took small sections (as I normally would) and with only one swipe my hair was poker straight (I had them on the full 200° heat) I soon realised that because of the wider plate I could take double the section size that I normally would.. Superb!

Within 10 minutes I was finished and cooing over how great my hair looked in the mirror, I was seriously impressed. The shine that their secret sparkly ingredient adds leaves on the hair is so lovely, I haven't seen my hair so shiny in a long time.

And so here are the results for you all to see.. My hair afterwards!

Nice result, Right? The photo's made me wow over how great the results were even more so, I cannot believe that is my hair that is so sleek and so shiny!

So, I have to say that these Cloud 9's are my new love! I had gotten out of the habit of straightening my hair for the past year or so and I would only ever do it for a special occasion because I just couldn't be bothered to spend nearly half an hour going over small sections of my hair. But I am happy to report that with these wide plates and only ten minutes of my time, I will be sporting straight hair much more often. I think it looks so much nicer than me putting my frizzy curls into a messy bun all of the time.

So I owe a BIG thank you to Cloud 9 for giving me passion to want to have nice straight hair back, I am so happy!! :)
