Five Skin Essentials!

Because I am a bit lost on the 'what to blog about' front at the moment, I thought I would talk about five things that I couldn't do without in my skincare.

Some may find it of interest, or not.. I don't know?!

So, onto my goods, in no particular order.

1: I bought this randomly one day, because it was so cheap and I was curious to see what it was like. I don't really suffer from blackheads, but I did have one awkward one, So I got this. I used it after a hot shower and it got rid of it straight away, I was amazed. It's great for getting any crap out of your open pores. It looks like a scary instrument but it really isn't and it is painless.

2: I love this moisturiser! It was sent to me a while back for review and I always use it. It mattifies my skin and has SPF in too, so that's great. It smells good, soaks in nicely and makes my skin feel good. It is a definite favourite of mine.

3: These little things are amazing, They are small thin wax strips which are great for small areas of hair removal. I only use them for under my brows after plucking to get rid of the tiny fine annoying hairs. They would also be great for the upper lip, but I haven't been brave enough yet, because it's ouchy!

4: I couldn't be without this and have been using it religiously for ages now. It is the best exfoliator ever, it leaves my skin feeling as smooth as a peach and deeply cleansed.

5: These were quite a recent purchase. I had always used an old pair of tweezers that I'd had for ages that did the job. I saw these for about £4 or so and picked them up. Wow! New tweezers that have a good clean edged slant so the job so much better. I love these!

So, they are five things I love and wouldn't be without! Do you use anything I use?

What are your five face essentials?

My Holy Grail Foundation!

It took me a while to find a foundation that I love, but I knew when I had found it.

Here it is, Revlon Colorstay.. I love it!

I know that everyone knows about this foundation, and I've never heard anyone say that they dislike it yet (I'm sure someone does!) .. I had ready so much about this before I bought my first bottle, but from what I had read it sounded perfect for me. It keeps oily skin free of oil, and it has good coverage.

I always feel completely confident and happy with my skin when I am wearing this. No other foundation has ever made me feel like that. The coverage is so great, it makes my skin look flawless, doesn't highlight my pores and it keeps my oil at bay!

This colour is perfect for me and I honestly think I will always use this now.

I wish the bottle had a pump though, it would be so much easier and less messy. I have heard that they are bringing it out with a pump soon, is that so, anyone know?

I know that MAC Studio Fix Fluid is apparently similar to this? I've never tried a MAC foundation and would be interested to try SFF and see if it lives up. But why change when I love this so much?!

You have to work fairly quickly with this because it sets rather quickly, but that's fine with me, because when it is set it will last ALL day. I most like to apply it with a damp make up sponge, it isn't such a heavy coverage and it makes it easier to blend. I would really love to get a beauty blender and try it with that.

It is also fab to dab onto blemishes to conceal too. It's just perfect for me, and that's that!

Does anyone else love this as much as me?

Make Up Look & Hello!

Hey everyone.. I know I have been slacking on the blogging front recently, Not really sure why, just a little uninspired I think.

Here we have another one of those FOTD's that I have stored in a folder on my desktop. I don't remember exactly what I used sadly, but it was a neutral colour all over the lid, then I used a dark matte brown in the crease and blended! (Please excuse the state of my brows here)

That's all I've got for you for now, sadly. I do have a pastel look that I recently did, coming soon though! :)

How are you all?

LUSH : Dark Angels Cleanser

Because of my oily, spot prone skin, I am always looking out for something new to try that might help me out. I got this a while back, when a sale assistant in LUSH recommended it to me. It sounded great, So I bought it.

I have been using it twice a week for about four months now and thought I'd let you all know my thoughts on it.

What They Say :

Deep dark cleansing facial scrub for young, dark and oily skin. A lovely, black, squidgy scrub made with charcoal to absorb oils and exfoliate your skin. Nutritious avocado oil softens your skin, glycerine keeps the moisture in and black sugar softly scrubs; rhassoul mud is anti-microbial and cleanses deeply, while sandalwood and rosewood essential oils are soothing, giving you a feeling of smooth, clean freshness that is difficult to beat. It’s our new favourite, even if we aren’t very young. Just be a bit careful that you wash it off properly and clean the wash basin after you.

So, as you can see from the picture it's a black powdery squidgy looking product. It's simple to use, you just take a small five pence piece size amount on the palm of your hand, add a few drops of water and make it into a paste. I then cover my face in it, gently rub it in (Not too hard, it can feel harsh - It should be used once a week on normal skin, and twice on oily skin) and rinse it off - It does look scary when you rinse, but I always use it in the shower so it's not so bad.

I really love how this cleanser makes my skin look and feel. It feels baby soft when I have used it and it has a healthy glow to it. This keeps the oil at bay too, which I love! After use my skin just feels like it has been really deeply cleansed, and so fresh.

This costs £5.50 for 100g (which will last a while!)

Have you tried this?

Boots No17 Pastel Goodies!

I bought these a few weeks ago now, and showed them in a haul, and wanted to do a separate post with swatches and my thoughts on them..

I have the blusher in 'Peaches and Cream'. The Nail Polish in 'Sherbert Lemon', and the Eye Trio in 'Dolly Mixture'.

So anyway, I have been playing with them since I got them and thought it was about time I gave you my thoughts on them. All of the items cost less than £5 and they were on 3 for 2 when I got them.

Onto the goodies!

The nail polish is a lovely pale lemon colour and I love how it looks. The consistency is a little thicker than I would like though, and it takes two coats to look fairly decent. I am wearing this now though, and it is still a bit streaky and could do with an extra coat. That might just down down to my application though. It is a lovely colour though, and is on trend being a pretty pastel colour.

This blush, apparently a dupe for Nars Orgasm, and Albatross is stunning. It is highly pigmented, smooth and just gorgeous! I love it so much. I can't comment on it being similar to the nars versions, as I don't have them. It is a perfect summery colour and gives a lovely glow.

These colours are just lovely! I love pastel colours and matte eye shadows, so I had to have this. It is quite well pigmented, but the eye shadows are slightly chalky and take a few layers to look bright. I still love them though and have a FOTD and video look coming up very soon with this trio!

So, there you have it.. My thoughts :) Have you tried any of these?

Sunday Fun!

Copied this idea from Charlotte over at Lipglossiping .. I did this years ago, when I was into the whole myspace thing, and my top result was always Chritina Ricci.. No sign of her this time around!

Here are my results, I did it twice just because I was curious to see how different they would be!

Not bad, right? All pretty beautiful women. Catherine Zeta Jones? I mean, really?! She is stunning.. I'll take that, fo'sho! .. I always loved Ginger Spice too!

Joshua eff'ing Jackson?! Wtf! He is gorgeous, but I don't want to look like him!.. Ahh, but Catherine is there again *smiles* Oh, and Britney too!

Wishing.. Wanting..

This is going to be a completely random post! Not related to make up or anything really, just a life sort of post! I think it's quite a fun idea.. All of these are things I am wishing for and wanting right now..

It could be a tag thing, so if you want to do it, please do, and let me know if you do!

Things I am wishing for right now.. *sigh*

To go on a shopping spree! No expense spared. Bliss!

To go to a musical in the west end, what a great evening that would be!
To have some money, I'm sick of being skint!

To have a job, a good job that I love, then I will have some of the above money!

Lady Gaga Viva Glam lipstick.. This is a possibility, sometime soon I hope! :)
I want an iPhone, have done for ages. I'll have one, someday! *fingers crossed*
I want to try a Clarisonic, I have heard so much good about them, I need one!

a Holiday would be nice, Thanks. Blackpool will do me, I love it there :) (Easily Pleased, eh!)

a nice haircut and colour, My hair is outta control!

Beyonce's body, yes please!.. OK, that is far fetched, but I want to get health and slim, and I shall.

Max Factor Lash Extension Mascara.

This item was in a goody bad that I received at an Aussie event I went to a while ago. I was excited to try it, and when I did I was very disappointed. I didn't think it made a difference to my lashes and I threw it into my mascara tub with all of the others, and carried on reaching for my usual.

However, a couple of weeks ago I did a really natural make up look and decided for a natural lash look, I would use this.. My opinions were so different this time, It coated ALL of my lashes, It's really black, and it lengthens really well adding a little volume too. I have been using it daily since and decided I would talk about it, and tell you how much I like it!

The formula is so black and the plastic wand is covered in soft rubbery bristles that grab and coat each lash. I love that the wand bristles are soft, because if I catch the inner rim of my eye it doesn't hurt as much as some of the harder plastic wands too. Also, if I accidentally touch my eyelid with the wand it doesn't leave any black splodges and ruin my make up! It's like all of the mascara is on the wand, and staying there.

That's probably because the formula isn't wet, which I am glad about. It means working a little quicker with the product, but it dries faster and the results are nicer.

Here is a before and after :

(Sorry about the flash/no flash pics. The naked eye should have had flash on too, but it was blurry)

Now bad, eh? I love the effect, lots! :) Have you tried this, do you like?

Oh, and please, go to Zuneta and check out my guest blogpost there today! I'd appreciate a comment!

Sleek Bohemian Palette.

Quite a few readers asked for a closer look at this, The newest addition to the i-divine sleek palette family, (bought with my own money.) This is the Bohemian Palette and is gorgeous! It is made up of mostly mattes with a few shimmers throw in, which is fine by me, I love mattes too.

The shadows are lovely and smooth and pigmented, as always! Although the mattes are not as highly pigmented as the shimmers, as you would expect. There are a gorgeous array of colours though and many looks to be created using this. I love it!

Here are some swatches :

So, there you go! Lovely isn't it?.. I won the two new Sleek Kajals on Facebook on Good Friday too, so I cannot wait to receive and try those out!

- Oh and I just wanted to let you all know that Sleek Makeup now do international shipping, great huh?!

Sleek Acid Palette FOTD!

*Warning*

Crazy Makeup Alert!

I did this look the other day, I was just playing with my 'untouched' Acid Palette, I know.. I've had it for months, and never used it.. Well I have now, but I hadn't.. Oh never mind!

I used the bright pinks and the lovely purple. I quite like how it came out, but it's very bright and maybe not to everyone's taste..

Let me know what you think..

On the lips I have MAC Rebel Lipstick, another one I have been neglecting, but I actually like it! :)
