Denise McAdam Hair Products.

Denise McAdam is a Celebrity Hair Stylist from Scotland who has been in the business for over 30 years. She has her own hair product range that is exclusive to Tesco stores in the UK.

I was recently sent a lovely package of goodies from some of the Tesco Ranges, and included in that were the Denise McAdam Full Volume Boosting Shampoo & Conditioner, and also a Frizz serum. I have quite thick voluminous curly hair already, but I don't think you can have too much volume!

The Shampoo and Conditioner are really, really lovely. I can't find them on the website, but I know they are £3.50 a bottle, as I have already purchased more, and so has my mum. They were on offer, 2 for £5 the last I saw, but that might not be available now.

So, if I went out and bought more it must mean that I like it, right? .. Very right! The shampoo and conditioner smell lovely, and lather really well. They leave my hair feeling soft, and so bouncy and even thicker than it already is. My mum and sister have fine hair, and they were in love when they tried it, they couldn't get over how thick their hair felt. So if you're after some volume, try this - It really does work!
The Frizz serum is great too. I'm not normally always one for serum, I'm more a wash and go kinda girl, but I just add this to the length and ends and let my hair air dry, and it looks smooth, full and glossy, as you can see!

You can buy Denise McAdam products from your local Tesco store.

- Liz Earle: Sheer SkinTint.

I know that many of you are as excited as I at the prospect of Liz Earle dipping their toe into the Beauty/Make up world, and bringing out a Skin Tint. I was fortunate enough to get a sample to try out before the launch date, and I've been trying it for a couple of weeks.

What They Say: We've spent three years carefully creating our high performance make up must-have, which leaves skin looking dewy, even and radiant. Suitable for all skin types, it contains mineral UV protection SPF15 and gives you the perfect level of coverage to achieve natural-looking, beautiful skin.

My Thoughts: It's much heavier coverage that I expected it would be, and the consistency is quite thick compared to other tinted moisturisers I have used. However, I find that once it's blended it feels really light on the skin, and it leaves a lovely dewy glow, as promised. It hydrates the skin like a moisturiser too, and of course it has SPF in it, which is a great bonus.

I  say that if you like a medium coverage foundation that leaves you with a radiant glow, this is for you. I'm not normally one for dewy, because I have oily skin, but if I add a bit of powder to my t-zone when I wear this, I still get the glowy-ness,  without shine.

There are three shades available, I tried the lightest shade 'Bare' out, and it is perfect for me. They also have Beige for medium skin tones, and Beach for medium to dark. I was accidentally sent the beige shade at first, which was way too dark for my light skintone, but I gave it to my Mum... and like me, she likes the finish it gives, but was suprirsed by it's coverage, saying she expected it to be sheerer.

For me, personally, it's fine. I like a medium coverage, and it evens out my skintone, with a touch of coverage, as you can see in the photo below.

The Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint launches on September 8th, and it £21 for 40ml. It is available for pre order online. Do you think you'll be trying this?

Review: HD Brows Quad - Foxy.

You may or may not remember the review that I did a while back about the larger HD Brows palette, which I love! It's full of a whole range of colours that are perfect for brows, and make up looks, and even contouring the face I have found.

Well, as much as I love that palette, I have to admit that it's not easy when you're on the go or travelling, because of how large it is. So I was delighted when I got an email telling me that they now have handy handbag sized eyebrow quads.

I was sent the shade Foxy to try out, and I love it. It was three great brow shades for Brown Haired/Brunette People, and they are all so soft, blendable and nice and matte - and the staying power is amazing, these will not budge until you remove with a make up wipe or remover. The powders just set into place and look flawless all day. There is also a nude shade in this palette, which is a really nice eye brightening shadow for the lid, or for a brow highlight.

It comes with a handy mini brow brush too, which is actually nice and stiff and very useful - definitely not your typical rubbish disposable at all!

HD Eye & Brow palette is £19.95. Available to buy from www.hd-brows.co.uk or 0845 644 3994 (ext 32)

- Sleek NOTD : Oxford.

Hi everyone, Apologies for the lack of blogging recently, I'm away at my mums with my boyfriend. We are dog/house sitting. I should get back to some more blogging over the next week or two.

Here is a recent nail of the day from Sleek. This is a gorgeous deep, shimmering navy shade, called Oxford.
I love the polishes from Sleek, they are opaque, glossy and long lasting, this shade is a fave, but probably more of a autumn/winter colour.

Available from here.

Bluebeards Revenge Review. A ha Me Hearties!

It's not for girls, and it's not for wimps either. Hah!

I was sent a tub of bluebeards revenge and a shaving brush to try out a while back, and my boyfriend and I have both been trying it out for over a month. I didn't actually plan on sharing it, but you should have seen the sulky look on the boyfriends face when I showed him what the postman had delivered. The packaging has lots of quirky comments on it about men hiding it from their girlfriends, and it's not for girls. He was like 'Well you can't use it then!' .. I told him that I can, and would. So we shared.

What they say: Designed by a real life Blue Beard who was bored to death with being a Desperate Dan look-alike, the flagship product in The Bluebeards Revenge™ range is a paraben free, premium quality shaving cream with added ingredients to specifically combat tough stubble. It has been formulated to our unique specification in one of the UK's premier male cosmetics laboratories who are renowned experts in the field of shaving cream.
My boyfriend has this on his shelf in the bathroom, and uses it every time he shaves. He even told me off for using too much when shaving my legs and underarms. He loves it, he likes the smell,  the creamyness of it, and how little you need to produce a really good lather. I do too, I tried the brush out, and it's nice to use, but I find I'm quicker just using my fingers, which is why I use more than him! .. It does smell nice, it has a slight masculine scent, but it is pleasant and not at all over powering.

One of the great things about Bluebeards is that it has a special thing called 'Decelerin' in it, which contains a mixture of active ingredients that delay hair growth, reducing the frequency of shaving and depilation and at the same time providing a recovering effect on the skin. I have certainly found this to be true on my underarms, the hair doesn't grow back as fast, and it seems finer to me. My other half isn't that sure if he notices a difference yet, but I think he is shaving less that he used to, and his stubble doesn't seem as rough.

All in all this product gets a thumbs of the my fella and me. He says it's gonna last him for ages, if I stop using it! (Cheek) - and he is keen to try some other products in the range.

Bluebeards Revenge is available on their website. Check them out!

Sleek Monaco EOTD.

Hey Lovelies,

Today is just a quick eye and lip of the day. My skin is looking bad and I don't look nice in any of the pictures with my whole face in! We all have those days, right?

I played with the Sleek Makeup Monaco Palette. It's lovely!
I used Summer Breeze on the inner corner, Magenta Madness on the centre of the lid, Then Magenta Madness mixed with Midnight Garden in the crease, and blended upwards. I have a matte white on my brow bone, and for mascara I used Max factor False Lash Effect.
And for the pink pout I used Sleek's Amped Lipstick. It's gorgeous. :)

That's it for today. I told you it was short!

I used to be scared of tanning! - Tan Solutions Review!

Let me start this review by giving you a little background on me and tanning. I am pale, pasty and white. I've always embraced the pale to be honest I don't like to sit in the sun, sunbeds scare me, and sprays tans and the like are so temporary that I've never bothered.

I've always toyed with the idea of braving some bottled fake tan. I even have about four bottles of St Moriz and some Xen Tan on my dressing table - But I've always just thought 'No, I'll leave it. I'll make a big fat mess!'.

Recently someone from Tan Solutions got in touch with me and after telling me a little about them, and me looking at their website, I agreed for them to send me some products to try.

The thing that scares me most about tanning is doing it, I am so inexperienced, and I'm afraid that I will end up looking orange, streaky and plain stupid. My boyfriend promised he would give me a hand on the harder to reach places though. (ooo-er!)

Tan Solutions were very generous and sent me loads to try. I was a bit overwhelmed and worried as I looked at all the different options, but I've finally managed to try them all, on friends, my boyfriend, family and myself. So now I can give my thoughts.

-I'll start with my favourite first, The Self Tan Lotion £30 (Fair/Medium) : This is quite a pricey tan at £30, but it really is marvellous. It's a lovely lotion that sinks in effortlessly, and leaves a really nice natural looking tan. The lotion is coloured, which makes the application easier. It smells good, and it's buildable too, if you want a darker colour.

-Next up, The Express Tan Liquid £22. This terrified me. It is a dark scary looking liquid that comes with a tanning mitt, but actually it is really great. It dries super fast and leaves and instant bronzy deep tan on the skin. It's suitable for the body and face, and I did use it for my face when I tanned. I applied it over some moisturiser, just so that I didn't look like I had been tangoed. It looked fine!

-The Easy Tan Wash Off £15. This was the first product I tried, and sort of practised with, because I knew if I messed up that I could wash it off. This gives a lovely instant medium coloured tan. I prefer it for the legs and chest/neck area. I found that when I used it on my arms it would look silly when I washed my hands and went up my arm, Oops!

-Lastly for tanning, The Dark/Very Dark Foam. £20. Eeeek. Dark/Very Dark makes me shiver, I would never use this on myself, I am way too fair and would be so scared that I would look silly. I let my mum use it though (She is quite tan already). I'm familiar with foam, and I like how it applies - this blends in easy, and dries quite fast, developing quickly. It definitely topped up my mum's tan, and she is now looking like she has been on her holidays before she even goes!

-The last product, which is a body product. Shimmer Sparkle Spray £15. This is lovvvely! This is a bronzey tinted spray that gives a subtle bronzey glow to the skin. Make sure to spray from a good distance though, as it can look quite dark. I love this for when my legs are on show (I show them more when they are tanned! Yay!) .. It looks so nice, and gives such a nice shimmer, without chunky glitterness.
Overall I am very happy that I got the chance to try these. They are definitely good quality tanning products. All of them give a nice rich colour without any orange hint, and they all smell great - I did not detect ANY hint of digestive biscuit. They have a nice fruity scent that lasts.

Do you love to fake tan, or do you embrace the pale? .. I'm happy either way, but I have found that having a tan does give me a little boost, I love it!

Review: Liz Earle Aftersun Gel.

Hi Lovelies,

I have a review today, but first I wanted to say that this is my 600th post. Yay! Thanks for all of your support.

I was recently sent the Liz Earle Aftersun Gel to try out. I love Liz Earle products, but I wondered how I would have an opportunity to use this. I don't do out in the sun to catch any rays, and I am not a sun worshipper. However, last weekend my whole family had a get together for my Grandads 80th Birthday, and it was hot! Like really hot, and I did catch the sun, just a little on my shoulders and the back on my neck. The following day my boyfriend was out all day in the sun, and caught it on his arms.

What They Say:  Our light, rehydrating gel cools, calms and nourishes sun-exposed skin by replacing lost moisture. Premium high-altitude lavender is soothing and cucumber refreshing, while antioxidant natural source vitamin E helps counteract the damaging effects of the sun’s rays. Massage into the skin as often as needed after exposure to the sun. Containing cooling orgainc aloe vera and refreshing cucumber, plus natural source vitamin E to help counteract the damaging effects of the sun’s rays.

My Thoughts: So with the perfect opportunity to try it out, we did so. This stuff is very impressive. It's a clear gel that smells Ahhmazing! It has a very soothing lavender scent, it smells so fresh, and when applied and rubbed in it instantly gives a nice cooling sensation, you can feel it soothing your skin, and it just feels lovely.

My boyfriend found that it kept his sunburn soothed for a good few hours before he put any more on, and it also stopped it from drying out and peeling, it kept the skin well hydrated.. My sunburn wasn't that bad, but I have to add that it does feel so nice, even if you don't have sunburn! The gel just feels lovely as it cools your skin as you rub it in!

Oh, and a quick tip! Keep in in the fridge for even more cooling soothing feeling. It works a treat.

The lovely ladies at Liz Earle also sent me a really nice large tote bag for the beach, which I haven't had a chance to use yet, but it's huge, and really strong canvas. It's lovely!

You can purchase the Liz Earle Aftersun Gel here, or in store. If you're off somewhere hot on holiday, you won't regret it!

.. Somewhere over the rainbow. ♥

Do I win the prize for the most predictable name for a rainbow make up look, ever? --- Yes? Great! Haha.

Yesterday was rainbow eyes day, because I felt like being bright, and also in honour of Gay Pride, which is actually today in Leeds.

I haven't done a rainbow look for ages, and I liked how it turned out. You can't beat them for the ultimate bright, stand out look.
All of the eyeshadows that I used to do this look were from the amazing 120 palette. Search for it on ebay, it's one to own, for sure! On the lips I am wearing Sleek 'Amped' with Urban Decay Asphyxia on top, and I also have some of the same eyeshadow on the eye crease - It's a great colour! The lashes are the best ever, my absolute faves, they are 'Wild & Flirty' from Girls With Attitude. They are just £5, can be worn over and over, and are easy to apply, lightweight, and they look glam.
Thank you for reading. Are you a fan of Rainbow Eyes?

Fragrance: Giorgio Armani Sport Code.

Recently I was sent a bottle of the Giorgio Armani Sport Code Fragrance for review, Well, for my boyfriend actually. He's been using it for the past month or so, so here are our thoughts.

My BF's signature scent is always Jean Paul Gaulitier Le Male, and this fragrance is very different to that, but still very nice in a different way. This scent is very masculine, with a citrus like musky hint to it. As soon as he wore this for the first time he said he thought he preferred it to his usual Jean Paul Gaultier. That surprised me.

It does smell very good though, one of those scents that lingers for hours, and I keep on breathing in and going 'Mmm, it smells so good' (Always a sign of a good scent!) My boyfriend is very happy with it, and it is his scent of the moment, so he must like it.

Armani collaborated with with celebrated Belgian graphic novelist Philippe Francq for the imagery. The fragrance concept centres around seduction, losing control and game-playing. The advertising campaign features a Los Angeles swimming pool at night, complete with a lone male swimmer watched by a mystery woman (new fragrance face, actress Megan Fox).
You can get a sample of this fragrance now, by going to armanicode.com if you would like to try it out!

You can purchase a full sized bottle from most perfume counters, or here.

Sleek Make up's 'Oh So Special', 'Curacao' + 'Monaco' Palettes.

So. . . If you know me, then you know that I am an absolute major Sleek Make up addict! I have been collecting all of their iDivine palettes since god knows when, and these are my most recent additions, that make my collection complete again! I know they are all limited edition and probably not available now, but it took me a while to get hold of them. But I still had to share my thoughts.

We have the Oh So Special Palette, The Curacao from the Caribbean Collection, and the Monaco Palette from the Mediterranean Collection.

The Oh So Special Palette is a lovely palette which many people are comparing to the Urban Decay Naked Palette, and I can see why. It's packed with some gorgeous neutral toned shades, some shimmery and some matte. I love it, it's perfect for a light day look, or a dark smoky look too.

Oh So Special Swatches:

Next up, the Monaco Palette. This is beautiful, full of some lovely bright colours, this would be the perfect holiday palette. There are a couple of mattes in here (Bamboo and Summer Breeze) that need to be built up to show, but mattes are known for not being so pigmented. The shimmers are buttery soft though, and all swatches are one swipe with no primer.

Monaco Swatches:

Lastly, the SUPER bright Caribbean Palette. Gosh I love it! This is the one I have been playing with the most lately, I just love the bright stand out shades. Again, as ever, they are soft and pigmented and just great for nights out, and holidays. Or any time if you're me!

Caribbean Swatches:

There you go! I will have some looks coming very soon that I have done using these. Are you a Sleek fan? What is your favourite palette from them?

- Lush Review: 'The Comforter'.

Just look at it... It's lovely hot pink-ness, and white centre. It almost looks good enough to eat. It smells it too.

This is a Bubble Bar from LUSH, and my most favourite one that I have ever tried.

Lush Say: This fruity bubble bar gives the feeling of being hugged by a jolly blackcurrant. When life is getting you down, crumble The Comforter under hot, running water for purple water and creamy bubbles. The warm aroma of cassis absolute is relaxing so relaxing that you'll go to bed feeling happier and the world will seem brighter the next day.

My Thoughts: I Loveeee this! Love, love, love! It smells amazing, and it's such a huge bubble bar that it lasts for a good time. One of these does me for four baths, I just chop it into quarters, and away I go - It costs £3.99, so it's not too bad as a luxury for £1 a bath! It creates the bubbliest, softest, most loveliest smelling bath ever. I don't bathe often, I'm more a shower girl, but when The Comforter is involved, I'm there.

It turns the bath water a lovely shade of pink and the quarter creates a tub FULL of bubbles! The water feels so soft and luxurious with this in, and the scent lingers in your skin for ages afterwards, leaving your skin feeling so smooth and clean.

This gets five stars from me! What's your fave bubble bar, or Lush product?

Available here, and in LUSH Shops.

- FOTD: Purple Shower.

Hey Lovelies,

Here is just another face of the day! I fancied playing with purples, and decided I would use my Purple Shower Eyeshadow from MAC. I'm not sure if you can still get it or what, but it's a nice colour - It's a satin finish and takes a few layers to build it up for an intense finish, but I like it. I also used Asphyxia from Urban Decay to blend it out, I love that shade, such a pretty purpley sheen, and I added a tiny touch of black on the outer corner to add some depth.
And here is a picture I edited the hell out of, just for fun.
Thanks for reading! I hope you all had a great weekend.
