Sleek Makeup Goodies!

Hey Everybody! I hope you are all doing well?

I know some of you know this already, but for those of you that don't, I was the winner of Sleek Makeup's Facebook contest last week! My prize was this..

Any twenty products I want from their site! How exciting?

I was proper chuffed, as you can imagine.. So I go my package through today and after an afternoon of playing with it all, and then taking some pictures, I am gonna show you the goods! It's picture heavy, so make sure you are sitting comfortably!

How amazing is all of that? ... I am sooo excited that it is all mine!
Now I'm gonna break it all down for you .. Enjoy!

Who knew Sleek did eyelashes? I didn't, but when I saw them I knew I had to try them! I ordered 'Rio', 'Shanghai', 'Harare', and 'London' .. The London ones are individual lashes, the rest are strip lashes.

Poison Ivy, Royalty, Oxford - Lilac, Pastel Pink, Turqoise.
I chose six nail polishes.. maybe a bit excessive? .. I don't know! But I have never tried Sleek Polishes so I went for it. I got three festive metallic shades, and three of their summer pastels. These are a generous 10.5ml.

This is the contour kit in light, which Sleek have an exclusive on at the moment, you can get the kit and brush for a limited time. I have wanted to try this for ages so I went for it! The brush is broken though :(  .. The highlighter brush comes off .. I have let Sleek know about it though. The bristles are lovely and soft!
*Update : They are replacing the brush for me*

I went kind of mad ordering skin/face products, but I took this as my chance to try all of the things I have been wanting to try. The luminous powder is something I always look at when I am in Superdrug. I needed a new translucent pressed powder, so I ordered it in light.. Which is is not! It is orange and way too dark for me which is annoying.

The 'One' finishing powder is amazing though! More on this soon! The Skin Revive foundation is very impressive too. I wouldn't normally go for a lighter coverage but I feel the Clarisonic is improving my skin, so I braved it. This is lovely, I am wearing it now.

Blusher! Something I have been wanting to try from Sleek forever! I got Pixie Pink, Flamingo and a new shimmer blush in Pomegranate. More on these in another post.. I haven't properly played with everything yet.

Last up, I ordered two lip products. Highshine gloss on 'A Touch Of Pink' and sheer lipstick in 'Silk' .. The lippie is nice, but I haven't tried the gloss yet.

Here is my list, and prices for anyone who is interested. All available from here.
  • New Skin Revive Foundation - £6.99
  • Translucent Pressed Powder  - £4.99
  • ONE Finishing Powder - £6.99
  • Luminous Pressed Powder - £5.99
  • Blusher -  £3.99
  • High Shine Lipgloss - £3.49
  • Sheer Cover Lipstick - £3.69
  • Nailed Polish -£3.49
  • London Individual Eyelashes - £4/49
  • Other Strip Eyelashes - £3.49
  • Face Contour Kit and Dual Ended Brush - £8.00
If you got this far, well done! I hope you enjoyed. :)

Revlon Matte Suede NOTD's!

Ohh, this is my 400th post! ..

With their A/W Colletion Revlon released two gorgeous Matte Suede nail colours. One is a gorgrous deep red/burgundy shade (Ruby Ribbon). The other is a dark vibrant green (Emerald City). Both shades remind me of Christmas because they are such deep festive colours.

I have two NOTD's here for you. The finish of the Matte/Suede's is lovely. It's not a flat boring matte, it's a shimmery matte that is eye catching, I love it!

First up, Ruby Ribbon!

And here we have Emerald City!

What do you think of Matte Nails? Have you tried these?

New GOSH Cosmetics Goodies.

I recently recieved a selection of new gosh goodies from Superdrug to test out and review for you all..

I was sent the following products  ..
  • Intense Lip Colour Gloss (Shades 301 + 302)
  • Brow Kit
  • Bronzing Shimmer Brush
  • Intense Waterproof Mascara
  • Lengthening Two Step Mascara
[I will review the mascara's at a later date..]

So, I want to talk about the glosses first, because these are amazingly lovely and I instantly fell in love with them both! They don't have shade names, just numbers :

The swatches make them look quite similar, but they're not.
301 is a pretty creamy pink colour and 302 is a mauvey nude colour, I wasn't sure I would like 302 but I actually really do! It's great over a nude lipstick, but they are both very pigmented and can be worn alone. My swatches show how pigmented they are with just one swatch. . . The glosses have a small side mirror on the side of the tube and a light inside the lid that you can operate by a small button on the lid. This is super handy for nights out!

The Brow Kit.
The brow kit contains three shades for the brows and a brow wax. I've never used a brow wax, but they definitely work to help keeping your brows in place all day! All three shades are really good shade and I use a mix of the lightest and medium colour for myself, although the dark one will be ideal for stronger looks. It also contains a tiny brush that you can use, but it's too small and I prefer to use my own.

. . .
Bronzy Goodness!
When I saw this I pulled a face, it's one of these that comes pack inside of the brush, then you push a button at the end to dispense the product. The actual product inside is a really nice finely milled bronze shimmer though, and gives a nice glow. The brush isn't the best though, and is a little scratchy.. I was a bit miffed about how to get the lid back on over the brush at first, but there is actually a lip that you pull up over the brush so that you can slide the lid on without ruining the brush. I tried to show what I mean in the picture below.

. . .

This new Impulse body spray was also an unexpected extra in the package and is lovely. It's a lovely refreshing feminine scent, that smells like pink grapefruit and vanilla.

These are the two mascaras which I shall be reviewing in an upcoming post! :)
All of the above products are available from Superdrug online and instore.

» Dry Shampoo + A Lipstick Kiss Hairbrush!

Nude + Gold Shimmer
Do you use dry shampoo? .. I rely on it pretty much! I always use it inbetween washes so that I don't need to wash my hair quite so often. I recently got sent the *New* Nude Batiste, and The Gold Shimmer one, too.

I have been trying them out for a couple of weeks and I have to say that I really like them both. I normally use the Batiste Tropical because I love the scent, but both of these products are really great too.

The Nude Dry Shampoo comes with a nozzle applicator and is a fine powder that you can apply with your fingers, or directly to the roots. I have to admit, when I saw this I was a bit 'Meh' about it. I thought it would be awkward using a nozzle, and it kind of is..

But I just put the powder in my hands and ruffle it through my roots. It instantly lifts the hair, giving volume and making it look clean and refreshed. It's quite similar to using talcum powder, but this is 100% natural, whereas it's not a great idea to inhale talc. I really like this and will definitely repurchase. This is £3.49 and can be purchased here.

The Spray with Gold Shimmer is literally the same as the normal spray Batiste, but with shimmer. This has a gorgeous scent to it and I like to spritz my roots with it, ruffle with my fingers, leave it for a couple of minutes and then brush it out (using my fancy Denman!). My hair is then left glossy and clean for another day!

However, because this has gold shimmers in it, I wouldn't recommend it for day to day because it is quite visible, especially on my dark hair. It's a very fine gold sheen and it looks lovely, but it's more suitable for a night out in my opinion. This is £2.99 from here.

I couldn't get a good pic of it on my hair, but here is a swatch on my arm..
Batiste Gold Shimmer Shimmerness!

Lastly, but not leastly is the Denman D3 'Kiss Me' brush. This was a total surprise in the package, and is just gorgeous! It's a great brush, as Denman's are. It's perfect for getting through all of the hair (even thick hair like mine) and smoothing it out, and also great for blow drying and back combing.. But of course the thing that makes is special that it is pink and the eye catching pattern all over it, Silver lipstick kisses! .. It is a definite MUST for make up addicts or the perfect gift for someone who loves makeup. I love it, it is so pretty...

MeMeMe « MakeUp Review.

Quite a while ago I was sent a few 'MeMeMe' goodies to try out. I got a couple of lip glosses and a cream blusher, both products are great, So I wanted to mention them here.

The two lip glosses that I have are the 'Light Me Up' ones. These both have a kind of menthol scent to them, the sort that you get in plumping glosses sometimes, but these don't plump, they just have a refreshing feel and smell.
Top 'Sparkle' - Bottom 'Show'

They are both a nice creamy texture that isn't too sticky and they are very pigmented too. have a small mirror on the side of the tube, and a little light inside the lid that (hence the light me up name) shines onto the lips when you use it, to help you see where you are applying it.

Mirror                                                        Light Up!
I like the light and mirror concept, especially if you are on a night out and you're in a dark bar or club. However, you cannot control the light, and so it comes on every time it gets used, which can be a bit annoying when you don't need it, But that's just a small thing really.

Show is a bubblegum pink creamy shade that looks great alone, or topped over a pink lippie. It's eye catching and really girlie.

Sparkle is a hot pink, almost red colour that is very striking. The reason for it's name is that it is packed with blue/violet micro sparkle that looks amazing when it catches the light. I love this over red lipstick, but both are pigmented enough to wear alone.

Here they are, swatched without a flash, then with. Click image for a closer look.. I tried to capture the sparkle!

The glosses are £6.99 each from Superdrug, or here.

Next thing is the Cheek'E blusher pot. This come packaged in a cute pot with a screw top lid and I have the colour Pinki'E. These are £4.99 from Superdrug, or the website. They don't currently have this colour online though, unfortunately.

Pinki'E.
As you can see, Pinki'E is a vibrant pink colour, and it does have a slight golden shimmer running through it. It's really smooth and blends easily onto the skin to a powder finish, leaving a fresh-faced glow. I like to use my fingers to apply this because the opening is quite small and I don't have a brush that fits in there to swirl around and pick up the colour. But I like to place the colour on with my fingers and blend with a #109 brush.

So there you have it, my review :) What do you think of MeMeMe products? Do you have any faves?

On a side note, MeMeMe are currently running a competition on their website where they are looking for their 'Lost Spirit' .. The winner of this competition will win a once in a lifetime amazing prize to become the 3rd spirit where they will take part in a professionally styled photo shoot by A-List celebrity make-up artist Lou Page which will be featured in Superdrug stores nationwide! Not only that, they will be in an exclusive feature with More! Magazine and for all their hard work our new spirit will win a holiday for them and one friend!

Liz Earle : Naturally Active Haircare.

* * *
We've all heard of Liz Earle, Right? .. Best known for their high quality skincare range.. Well, they have recently brought out a new Botanical Haircare Range and I received some samples to try out.

The Shampoo and Conditioner come in 200ml squeezy upside down tubes, I find these handy to use for the bath or shower and they look nice on the bathroom shelf too.

They compare the Shampoo to their Cleanse & Polish, in that it is suitable for all hair types, Then you just pick the conditioner that best matches your hair type (as you would with the moisturiser in the skincare!) - Clever, huh?!
* * *
So, The shampoo is SLS free and made with West African shea butter, and has vitamin E in it, as well as apple and orange extracts and naturally derived cleansers, to help clean your hair thoroughly. Liz spent some time creating a natural SLS Free shampoo that lathers the way any other shampoo would, It's funny isn't it, but most of us associate a lather with cleaning?!

Well, this shampoo certainly lathers, You need just a small amount for your whole head and it lathers into a lovely rich foam that spells like citrus, I got a lovely fresh orangey smell that lingered on my hair and in my bathroom afterwards!

I have the conditioner for Dry/Damaged hair, because I have thick frizzy hair that is coloured. This is a really thick cream that I saw described as a body butter for the hair somewhere else, and that is exactly what it is like. It smells like the shampoo, and leaves the hair feeling gorgeously smooth and silky. You don't need much of this and I just use it on the length and ends of my hair, as I always do.

I would definitely recommend this range to anyone, it's good for your hair, smells good, is well priced, and is good quality. They are priced at £7.50 a bottle, and if you are not sure if they are for you, you can buy smaller size to try for £4.00, which are also perfect for travel too!

A Couple Of Sleek Storm MakeUp Looks..

. . .
Going through my pictures folder today I came across two FOTD's that I never posted. They were done whilst I was away at my Mum's in August and are both pretty similar and done with the 'Storm' Palette, from Sleek.

* * * *
The next look is quite similar, but I used the Eyeko Navy Graffiti Liquid Liner pen with it. I can't remember exactly what else I used in the looks, But that's ok..

. . .

(These are the same look, same day - I just plaited my hair in between!)

That's all really, I just thought I'd post them as some FOTD's. I think the lipstick in the second pic is MAC Pretty Please. I love the Storm Palette, It's one of my faves from Sleek.

FOTD : Illamasqua Art Of Darkness.

My FOTD.
So in relation to yesterdays post all about my new Illamasqua goodies, I wanted to show you my face of the day, done with the products!

I used Superior as my all over cream base, then I packed Alluvium over it to set the cream and make it even more intense. They both look really good together and I love how the look turned out.. It's really simple, yet very bright and bold!

I also used my Liquid Metals Quad from the Body Electrics Collection, I took Enrapture on a liner brush and placed it along my lower and upper lash line and I added a touch of Phenomena on the very inner corner. The reason I used Enrapture to line the whole eye was because the pure pigment 'Alluvium' is full of micro copper sparkles, so I thought using this would really set it off..

Clockwise From Top Left : Enrapture, Surge, Solstice, Phenomena.
Eye Eye!

Sideways glance...
That's all really! For the rest of the look I used GOSH Liner in Purple Stain on my water line, I used Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara, and for foundation I used Max Factor Miracle Touch. Oh, and on my lips I am wearing Barry M #147, with a touch of Enrapture liquid metal in the centre of the pout!

So there you go! I hope you like :)

Smile!
