→ Liz Earle Energising Body Lotion.

After trying the body scrub of this range, I was sent the lotion to try out. It smells just the same, which is a lovely herbal heavenly scent that instantly awakens your senses!.. Mmmm.
This lightweight, heavenly scented lotion is packed with naturally active botanicals that have been specially selected to help smooth, firm and tone your skin. Massage into skin to improve its appearance and elasticity and to help firm and tone, particularly on problem areas such as upper arms, hips and thighs. A blend of 19 naturally active botanicals including ivy, caffeine, horse chestnut and butchers broom.
Yes, Yes, Yes! I love this, and I am almost out of it. It is the perfect addition to the scrub that I have. It is a good texture, not too thick or thin - It soaks in quickly and feels soothing and cooling upon application. The smell lingers all day long, and I find myself sniffing my arms lots (!) .. It makes my skin look brighter and feel so, so smooth. I'm not sure about the toning and firming thing, as nothing but a gym would work for me. But it is a great lotion that moisturises and hydrates the skin.

Available in Liz Earle Stores, and Online.

-- MeMeMe Correct + Perfect..

I love concealers, and I love to find a really good one that covers really well and impresses me. The Mememe correct and perfect concealer did just that. It is a two step concealer that has a handy little powder underneath, which is such a great addition!
Correct & Perfect with this must have kit! Featuring a hydrating cream concealer to smooth blemishes & hide those tell-tale dark circles with a translucent setting powder which doubles up to to set your perfecting concealer and offers mattifying cover to any other cheeky areas. This great little compact pot with mirror offers on the spot action for girls on the go!

Me likey! This concealer is very creamy, and blends in like butter. I like to apply it with my finger to melt it into my skin easier. It is great for covering blemishes and redness, but for me it's a little too heavy for underneath my eyes, but I use a specific under eye products for that anyway.

The powder to set the concealer is great, it's really weightless and does a perfect job of setting everything in place without looking cakey. I actually like to use this to set my under eye concealer too!

This concealer is available from the MeMeMe website, or in Superdrug.

- Pretty Cheerful Nails ..

The other day I was feeling very, very miserable. I'm not sure why.. February blues or something - I couldn't seem to shake it though, and my poor BF got the brunt of it. So when he went for a bath to escape me I decided to cheer myself up I would give myself a bright, pretty manicure.

It did the trick.. I feel more bright, and positive just because my nails looked pretty.. How sad!

I used Sleek Makeup's Turquoise. One of my faves! Then some nail stickers that I have from Sparkly Nails.

The result is this ....

That is all.. I hope you like it :)

Some Current Beauty Faves .. ♡

Rimmel Lash Accelorator Mascara. Wow, I love this! As a mascara the results for me are impressive .. I haven't been using it for long enough to know if it accelerates, but as a mascara it lengthens like crazy, and adds a nice amount of volume too, and it is really black.

Sleek MakeUP's Molten Metals. I love how quick and simple they are to use. They last much better than most cream products before they crease, and they look great just slicked onto the lid, or even used on the lashline as a liner.

Sue Moxley Shimmer Brick (Pink). Just a lovely mix of colours, perfect for a nice sheen on the cheeks, as a blusher - or the lighter shades used as a highlighter. I prefer to mix them all up. It's lovely!

Eyeko Fat Balms. Lovveeee these little fatbalms! They are conditioning, smell good and look lovely on too. This is the cherry one which gives a lovely, long lasting red stain to the lips. I would recommend.

The Cosmo Beauty Blend Perfection Sponge. I need to review this more thoroughly, but I love it. It blends my foundations amazingly well and leaves me with a flawless finish. I love using sponges to apply make up, and this is my favouritist one!

..

Blink Intense Kajal Pencil.

I was recently sent the 'Blink Kajal' to try out .. Now, I love my Urban Decay 24/7 liners and my Gosh Waterproof pencils soon. But I was excited to see how this would perform and if I would like it as much as I like the other liners that I use..

"This beautiful smudgy eyeliner is perfect for creating that smoky eye effect. The pencil is smooth and soft for easy application. It contains waxes derived from olive and jojoba oil and is free of mineral oil and preservatives. The liner is long lasting and has a smudger on the end to create your desired look."

I do really like it! It has this smudger on one end so you can do a really nice smoky liker with it if you want to, The smudger is soft and does blend the liner well. The liner itself is great, It is a very pigmented black, very soft and smudgeable. I wondered if it being free of oils and preservative would make it last for longer, and it certainly did - This liner lasted the majority of the day for me, which is a result. I would recommend this if you are looking for a new smudgy soft black kohl pencil.

Available from here for £13.

» Dirty Works Face Mask & Scrub.

I'm totally new to the brand Dirty Works. It's a beauty / bath brand that has just recently released a range of nine skincare products. I was sent a couple to try so that I could share my thoughts.

I was sent the Porefect Face Scrub and the  Belle Of the Ball Face Mask ..They are both £4.99 each and available from Sainsburys, and online at the links attached. You can see more of the Dirty Works Range, Here.

» The Packaging : It's bound to be compared to Soap & Glory with it's Retro Kitsch packaging, but I like it. The pink is cute and eye catching. I don't know if it is supposed to, but the packaging has a sweet candyfloss scent to it too. As soon as I opened the envelope I was hit with a lovely yummy scent. Nice touch!
So, What did I think of them?  ...

» The Porefect Face Scrub : "Reveal your inner beauty with this softening and smoothing facial scrub. Bursting with fruit extracts, it will tingle your senses with excitement and leave your skin refreshed and ready for further action!"

» My Thoughts : Impressive! It smells pleasant, a little fruity like. It has very fine grains in it to exfoliate, and I love that it is a foaming scrub, rather than just a exfoliator. I feel like this is cleansing my skin as well as getting rid of dead skin cells. It leaves my skin looking healthy and glowy, and feeling super smooth! I would definitely repurchase this.

» The Face Mask : Get ready to let your skin glow with new radiance! An intensive-action face mask to deep cleanse and replenish your skin. With superfruit extract of Blueberry, skin clearing Willow Bark and detoxifying Green Clay and Kaolin to help draw impurities from your skin leaving it fresh and glowing.

» My Thoughts :  I love love love this! It smells amazingly  sweet and you can feel it work. It is a clay mask, so great for helping with my oily skin. Just spread it on, and let it dry. It tightens up quite a bit, so avoid the eye area. I was left with soft refreshed skin, and I even noticed my pores looked a little smaller after using this. It just seemed to make my face look a little firmer, and look healthier. Love it!

Overall, I'm very impressed with what I have tried and actually fancy paying a visit to Sainsbury's to try some more products. The price is great, the packaging cute, and the product works. Have you tried anything from Dirty Works? What do you think?

→ Eyesbright : Contact Lenses, Lashes, Glitter & More! ♥

I've always been curious about trying out fun contact lenses, but a little scared too. I only have one set of eyes, and I am a very clumsy person, So I thought it best I left them alone. Once, in my teens I did buy a pair of violet three month lenses that I tried once or twice, but hated how they felt and so never bothered again.

Recently I received an email from a lovely lady called Kate, asking me if I would like to try out a few things from her website Eyes Bright .. After a look at the site, I jumped at the chance .. She sells a massive range of contact lenses, coloured ones, funky ones, scary ones.. and twilight ones! She also sells false lashes, glitters and face jewels .. So I sent her a little clue on the things that caught my eye the most, and she sent me a lovely package.

I received three pairs of contact lenses, and some lens cases and solution to store them in. This time around I did something I didn't bother doing when I was younger, and that was reading the instructions, how to store and look after them, and also watching you tube videos with tips and tricks about lenses. If I am honest my scariest thing was putting them in, and moreso removing them! I don't remember even being bothered about that when I was younger.
So anyway, after reading everything thoroughly and watching tons of videos on how to remove lenses, I went for it. I was prepared, clean hands, clean lenses, everything! ... And do you know what? It is much easier than I expected, and a lot less scary actually .. Putting them in is quite easy, removing them is a little more difficult, but easy once you get the hang of it. Just slide the lens away from the cornea, and pinching it between two fingers.

The three pairs of lenses that I got were the Twilight Lenses [£17.99] (Of course! How predictable am I?), Three Tone Brown [£15.99], and Sweet Honey [£15.99]. I love them all, although they do have similarities in the colour tones, they all have differences! So, I'm sure you are dying to see..
So, my natural blue eye, and then the three different lenses! .. I have to say that I love them all, so much! The twilight are very golden looking and Edward Cullen-ish in person. The 3 tone brown are the most natural looking, it took the BF a while to notice when I was wearing them (tut!) .. My faves, the honey lenses are bigger lenses, so they make my eyes look all doe like and cute .. Love them lots!

All three pairs of lenses are super soft and I was surprised at how natural they felt when I wear them. I can't feel the edge of them at all. That was one of the main things in my memory from my previous experience. So, what do you think of them? Which do you like best? .. It has opened up a whole interesting world for me, and I cannot wait to try some new colours .. I fancy green eyes next!

I was also sent some false eyelashes to try out .. I'm a bit of a lash addict, So I was very pleased about this! The website has a good range that it very reasonable priced.
Desire Lashes - Limited Edition Lashes - Dorable Lashes
The limited edition lashes are very drag! I tried them, but they seriously made me look crazy! The other two pairs are lovely wearable lashes, nice and glam and perfect for nights out! Dorable are my fave, they look so thick and lush and I like the different lengths of lash, it gives a wispy effect.

Here are some random pictures of me using the lenses and lashes ...
Clockwise from top left : Me wearing 3 tone brown lenses, how natural do they look? -- The next one is a sweet honey lens, Totally love how they look. -- Next, the limited edition lashes, I told you they look mad! -- Lastly, a scary shot of me wearing the twilight lenses.. I was trying to look like a scary vamp, but turned out more zombie like.. One for Halloween maybe? ..

- Ok, and lastly, some glam glitter shakers and gems! The stargazer glitters in 'Holographic' and 'UV Orange' are lovely. They are very fine and will be perfect for some glitzy make up looks. The holographic one if just like MAC 3D glitter, and at a fraction of the cost for £2.49 each! I recommend!.. I'm not sure those gems are worth the price though, They cost £2.50 and all you get is what you see in the pic, and a tube of lash glue. They are nice big sparkly gems though, I just think there should be more!
Phew! So that concludes my mammoth review.. Perhaps I should have separated everything, But I wanted to show everything that I got. I love everything I got, and you can expect to see me with different lenses in for looks every so often now. I would love to hear about your experiences with lenses, So please let me know!

Thanks to the lovely Kate for giving me the chance to try these goodies out! .. Don't forget to have a look at their website people, they sell some really funky lenses, as well as the other things I mentioned.

Thanks for reading and well done if you got this far!..

» Sleek MakeUP iDivine Primer Palette.

Meet Sleek MakeUP's newest addition! The iDivine Primer Palette.. I have been excited about this for the past few weeks, and I am so pleased to add it to my Sleek Collection.

So, the primer palette contains twelve cream primer eyeshadow bases, which are supposed to work perfectly with all shades from your iDivine palettes. The palette has a good range of shades in it - They are all slightly shimmery, apart from the black one which is matte.

The consistency of these is really nice and creamy. They are not greasy at all. They blend nicely and eyeshadows stick nicely to the base.  They are pigmented enough to be worn alone, but I prefer to use them as a base to intensify a powder eyeshadow or pigment.
I wore a silver look the other day and used the silver shade as a base, with a silver shadow layered on top. I was impressed with the staying power of it, my make up stayed bright and crease free for most of the day  (about 4 to 6 hours) before it started to crease. I was tempted to prime underneath to see if it makes a difference, but I thought that would defeat the object. To be honest I didn't expect it would stay crease free as long as it did, so I am pleasantly surprised.

The packaging is the standard Sleek Palette packaging. Nice and sturdy with the large mirror. As you can see above, the palette comes with a little brush applicator. It's useless, it sheds and is quite scratchy. I find the easiest way to apply a creamy product is with my fingers or a flat synthetic brush anyway.

Overall, a thumbs up for me! This is a welcome addition to my collection, and I am looking forward to experimenting more with it.

This palette is released on 16th February, available from Sleek MakeUP Website, and Superdrug. £6.49.

→ Who's a lucky girl? .. Cosmo Prize!

I'm a lucky girl, that's who! Just a couple of weeks ago I entered a blog competition where you had to do a smoky eye look, and the best entrant got to win a £135 prize, worth of cosmo beauty tools, and I won!

I was really surprised and very very pleased as you can imagine! I just wanted to show you my lovely prize which I got yesterday.. You will be seeing some reviews and posts on some of these items in upcoming posts, no doubt! (Click on the image for massive size!)
And here is the official image of what I got (everything but the sponge tip applicators..) Lucky me, eh!
What do you think of Cosmo tools? I'm new to them, but know that I love the beauty blender sponge! They are available from Superdrug, if you fancy trying them out.

» Nars Cordura Duo Eyeshadow.

Nars do a massive amount of eyeshadow singles and duos .. When I recently had a chance to try a couple of items I uhhm'd and aahh'd over which duo to pick, and eventually I went for this one : Cordura (£23.50).

It was love at first sight when I saw/used it. The rich warm and dark browns compliment each other beautifully Have a look ....
Nars Say : Shades to inspire and desire. Worn together or alone, all duo eyeshadows can be applied sheer or built up for a more dramatic effect. All powder eyeshadows can be used wet or dry..

  • Richly pigmented, micronized powder formula provides improved wear and feel
  • Effortless blending; coordinated in fashionable pairs
  • Multifunction: use as eyeshadow, eyeliner and on eyebrows
What I think .. Well, it is LOVE. I have never used an eyeshadow so nice! I was so excited the first time I used them, just a slight touch of the brush picked up lots of smooth, and very pigmented eyeshadow. They blend effortlessly and just wow'd me so much.

The pigmentation is insane, they are one of the nicest eyeshadow formulas I have used, they really just blend together perfectly and look rich and luscious on the eyes! (Hahha, I sound like a crazy woman!) The colours are lovely. I wear the lighter shade all over the lid, and blend the darker colour into the outter corner and crease (FOTD soon!) and it makes for a perfect smokey eye look.

Nars Eyeshadows get a MASSIVE thumbs up from me, and I cannot wait to add some more to my collection! Any suggestions? I have my eye on this if it is ever in stock.. :)

» My Thoughts : Nars Sheer Matte Foundation.

When it came to picking out a foundation I would like to try from NARS, I was stuck. I had heard so many positives about their Sheer Glow Foundation.. I was tempted, but with my skin being oily, and me needing a matte finish, I opted for the Sheer Matte Foundation (£29.50) instead.

What NARS Say : An oil-free, soft matte-finish foundation with sheer, buildable coverage that controls oil and shine throughout the day. Replete with skincare benefits and the NARS Complexion Brightening Formula, skin is more luminous, softer and smoother.

Used daily, Sheer Matte Foundation improves skin brightness, radiance and texture. For normal to oily skin types.

  • Minimizes visible discoloration
  • Brightens and clarifies overall skin tone
  • Oil free. Absorbs oil and controls shine
  • Dermatologist tested. Non-comedogenic. Fragrance Free.

So, what did I think of it? .. Let's see!

The formula of this foundation is a thick one, I had read that it is quite difficult to blend, So I used my fingers from day one, so I could warm the product up and have it blend into my skin easier. I never had any problems with blending. The shade range for NARS foundations is awesome too, I got this is Siberia (Light 1) and it's very pale, it works for me though.

Once blended this foundation sets to a matte finish that doesn't even require powdering, and for me that is an essential step! I do still powder most of the time, out of habit really.

Now, there is a problem with this for me .. quite a big one! It doesn't stay matte on my skin at all, after only a few hours my oily comes through and I need to blot and re-powder again. This is disappointing for something oil free and made to keep your skin matte.

Overall, as a foundation, I like it, I like how it initially makes my skin look and feel, I just wish it lasted longer. I have read a few reviews recently where others have said a similar thing about it too. I will use it though, I'll just make sure I have my blot powder to hand!

I really want to try the Sheer Glow now.. All I have seen are rave reviews!

What do you think of Nars foundations, have you tried this one?
